As much as I like to be at every thing my kids do, there’s just no way. I don’t have enough time off and I don’t have a job that I can work remotely. I have to pick and choose which events I’m able to be at.

L had her final ice dance qualifying competition last week in Detroit. It was just a one day thing in Bloomfield Hills so J and L went over Tuesday night to get ready for an early Wednesday morning competition.

We don’t have any care for B right now because J gets the the entire month of July off work so she’s home every day. She wasn’t going to take B with her to Detroit so he went to her parents house.

I got off work Wednesday evening before J and L got back to Kalamazoo so I offered to go pick B up. J’s parents offered to meet me at the McDonalds in Schoolcraft so I took them up on that instead of driving all the way down to Centreville.

I hadn’t eaten dinner yet and I didn’t want McDonalds. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money either so my best bet was the Little Caesars across the street.

Little Caesars in Schoolcraft is right on US-131 on the north side of town. The small carry out restaurant is in a shopping center with a Dollar General right off the southbound lanes before you get to Lyons Street.

I had actually put my order in before I left Kalamazoo hoping it would be ready by the time I got there. I loathe the $5 hot and ready pizzas. They’re garbage…the worst of the worst when it comes to carry out pizza. But some of Little Caesars other options are actually fairly decent.

I ordered the Thin Crust Meal Deal which comes with a large thin crust pepperoni pizza, Pepperoni Crazy Puffs, and a 2-liter of Pepsi. I can’t go to Little Caesars without getting Crazy Bread so I added on an order of that as well.

The order was ready and in the Pizza Portal when I got there. It was the only one there so I just put the code in I got in my email, grabbed my food, and headed over to the McDonalds to wait on B.

I started eating the pizza while I was sitting there waiting. B doesn’t really like pepperoni pizza anyway so I knew he wasn’t going to eat much so I didn’t have to worry about saving some for him.

The thin crust pizza had some really good crispy edges and a crunch to the crust all the way through. There were a lot of pepperoni’s on top of a thin layer of cheese and marinara. This is a way superior pizza to the $5 Hot and Ready pizza. It’s only a few bucks more and well worth the extra money and time it takes to wait for it not being hot and ready.

The Crazy Bread is what my family usually goes nuts over. I only got one order since it was just me and B but I was smart enough to leave some for J and L. I knew they’d see it when they got home and grab it right away. Pretty sure both did. The Crazy Bread with the butter and Parmesan on top is jus the best thing Little Caesars does.

The Pepperoni Crazy Puffs didn’t go over like I thought they would. They’re essentially pizza muffins. They’re a little thick and more crust than topping but they were alright. They’re kinda similar to Little Caesars Detroit Style pizza..which is also a pizza I like. Not bad overall. They’d make a good quick lunch. There were two left the next morning and I ate them both for breakfast.

The cost for all this food was less than $20.

I usually hate when I see the familiar orange box from Little Caesars. The regular pizza is probably the worst pizza known to man. I don’t care that it’s cheap. It’s awful. The other pizzas from Little Caesars are actually pretty good. The thin crust and Detroit deep dish are pizzas I don’t mind ordering and even then, it’s still a heckuva lot cheaper than other carry-out places. I will always take the extra time to order my pizzas from Little Caesars instead of just stopping in for whatever crap they have sitting in the warmer.
